Palm Bay officials celebrate opening of I-95 St. Johns Heritage Parkway interchange

Great things are happening in Palm Bay. The new I-95 “diverging diamond” interchange and connector road at Exit 166 opened to traffic August 11, 2020. The I-95/St. Johns Heritage Parkway interchange is a key part of the infrastructure for our Emerald Lakes development which sits right at the interchange. Emerald Lakes will provide a Mixed-use Downtown with diverse Residential Housing, Retail Shops, Profession Offices, a Medical Campus and Business & Technology Park.

“This is so important to the city of Palm Bay, and to its future,” Mayor William Capote told the crowd at the interchange ribbon-cutting. “It’s going to bring a lot of businesses into the area. It’s going to bring more rooftops into the area.”

Also at the ribbon-cutting was Acting City Manager Suzanne Sherman.”This southern interchange will provide Palm Bay residents with a new access point to the I-95 corridor, reducing travel times and traffic congestion surrounding the next-closest interchange at Malabar Road. “We are thrilled to see this third interchange open up in Palm Bay, and are excited to see the potential for growth in our city that this location will support.”
